Know why cesarean delivery is increasing, what are its dangers, you will be surprised to know the reason.

Pregnancy Obesity: Nowadays, instead of normal delivery, children are being born through cesarean i.e. C-section. Its numbers are increasing rapidly. Cesarean delivery is harmful for both mother and child. C-section delivery is a good option for those women who for some reason have problems in normal delivery or natural birth. Therefore, normal delivery should be done instead of cesarean. IIT Madras has made a shocking revelation regarding this. Let us know about the study and side effects of IIT Madras regarding cesarean delivery…

Report regarding cesarean delivery

In India, delivery through C section i.e. cesarean is now increasing rapidly. A study by the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has revealed that in the last 5 to 8 years, the number of children born through Caesarean section has increased significantly in the country. It has been told in the study that from the year 2016 to 2021, there has been an increase in deliveries through cesarean section in the country. While in 2016 its number was 17.2 percent, it increased to 21.5% in 2021. This study published in the peer-reviewed journal BMC Pregnancy and Childbirth states that cesarean section is not necessary for delivery. This is no less than a danger for both mother and child.

Risks of cesarean delivery

1. The risk of infection in a pregnant woman may increase during birth.

2. Bleeding may occur in the uterus.

3. The child may have respiratory problems.

4. Risk of hypoglycemia

Why are C-sections on the rise

Professor VR Muraleedharan of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Madras, said, in Chhattisgarh, people who were not poor chose the option of cesarean, whereas in Tamil Nadu, the poor were getting C-section done in private hospitals. More cases were found. The research team says that the reason for the increase in C-section delivery is the lack of proper information. This study found that cesarean delivery was twice as common in women who were overweight and older during pregnancy (35-49 years). Let us tell you that this study is based on NFHS data of 2015-2016 and 2019-21.
